In the Creative Writing section at Harbottle Show, there are 2 x £10 book tokens to be won – one for prose, one for poetry. Your entry will be judged by well known science fiction writer Stephen Baxter
who has the good sense to live in Coquetdale. Stephen, and co conspirator Jo Wood, established the Creative Writing classes at Harbottle Show, and Stephen has been the Creative Writing Show Judge ever since.
The Show committee offered space on the Show website as a "publishing" platform for the winners in each class! The Archive will build up over time and hopefully will not only delight those reading it, but inspire everyone to pick up the pen!
Why don’t you join our existing contributors to the Archive and discover the pleasure of writing, of communicating your feelings, thoughts and experiences. However ordinary you may feel your life is, you will be surprised how interesting it is to others.
Here’s what you need to do: Submit a poem, of any length, and / or, a piece of prose, no more than 1000 words – any subject matter in both categories, the choice is yours.
If you are bringing your entry in person, on Show Day, bring 20p and follow the procedure in the Exhibition Tent no later than 10am. 2 copies please, one of which should show your name and contact details.
If you can‘t get there on the day, post or e.mail your entries to the addresses below (email or post). If you're submitting by post, two copies please, one showing name and contact details. If you're submitting by email, one copy will suffice.
